 You could be thinking that nah ah I am not a product so I am not a brand.  Well that’s what I thought until Maria Casabene from MTC4 Hair & Image mentioned that everyone is a brand.

What perception do people have of you?
I explored this further with Maria and she mentioned that people have a perception of you. Then everything they see matches their perception of you.

The good thing is that people do not define who you are. You do and you project it to the people.  Then they will define you by that brand which you presented to them.

An example Maria gave is if you used to dress corporate then suddenly you go casual it means you have changed your brand.

How to identify your brand
 If you do not know what your brand is listen to people’s comments.  They might say things like” you look different today this is because you have changed your brand and people get surprised” (Maria Casabene)

Lets take this further to your career how do people describe you at work. Are you punctual, trustworthy etc. watch out as you will be defined by what you project.  If you are going back to the corporate workforce and need help with your wardrobe for free check this site;

How to change your brand
If you are not happy with your brand you can change it anytime. It’s never too late.

As we come to end of 2016 review your brand and if you do not like it go ahead and change it for the better.

Your brand impacts the next generation
As a mum, I have noticed that I am being watched every time by my kids. They copy everything I do, I guess as they are girls I represent everything they know about a woman.

So, my brand is being projected to these little people and I am shaping the next generation in who they are becoming. My little miss wants to be an accountant, blogger, mum. She wants to be exactly everything that I am.  So, it is important for me to project a brand which will impact my kids in a positive way.

    1. Thanks Stephy for your comment. Yes a lot of people struggle to identify their brand when it comes to business and some even struggle to identify who they are as individuals. Hence they spend they time trying to be like everybody else instead of finding their own identity and sticking to it.
