Un-grey your goals, grey is one of my favourite colours such that I have so many grey items in my wardrobe. However when it comes to goals I do not want to be grey. The reason being I do not want to be in between white and black.
Who wants to be working on the same things for 5 years and not getting any results? Have you ever wondered why you haven’t achieved them?
See the following points to help you define and guide to actually making things happen this year.
So here I am talking about being clear about what you want because without clarity you will be all over the place. I mean doing one thing today and another one tomorrow then someone might come with an exciting idea and you will run with it. At the end of the day or the year nothing will be accomplished.
Write the goals down
Writing your goals down is important. I do this task at the end of each year and set my goals for the coming year. So at the moment I am executing my goals for 2016. Writing down helps me keep focused as I regularly look at them to ensure that what I do every single say is leading towards achieving them.
The danger of not setting goals is that it gives you nothing to work on. You will be operating on wishes and hope instead of working towards a set plan.
Allocate some resources for executing these goals
Some goals need money for instance investing in education, buying a home, fitness if you want to go to the gym etc. Hence setting a budget will ensure that you have the resources necessary to execute these goals. If you do not allocate resources this will give you excuses for not achieving your goals.
However there are some goals that do not need money but they would probably need time. An example is spending more time with the family . You still need to set aside the time to make sure this actually happens.
Make no room for excuses
In my opinion this is very crucial as I always say;
If you want an excuse for anything in life you will always find it. So make no room for excuses and tell yourself it’s got to happen.
Work on your Goals
The last but very important step is to actually do what you said you will do. Get your hands dirty and get working. Look at your goals every single day and make sure you are spending your time working on tasks which will lead to achieving these goals
What strategies have you used to un-grey your goals? Are you making sure that this year will be the year that you will actually achieve your new year’s goals?
