How do you keep your eye on the goal? Yep after un-greying our goal we need to keep our eyes on the goal. This is key to making sure that at the end of the year we have achieved our goals.

How do you keep your eyes on the goal? I can respond to this question by using illustrations that are based on my life experiences.
Avoid distractions like a plague as at times they come dressed as opportunities when they in fact distractions.
Distractions can also be people who discourage us and say who do you think you are? Look at what everyone else is doing, this is what works.
This reminds me of my student days in the England. Whenever people asked me what I was studying, I used to literally stammer. The reason being I knew that the response was going to be negative. People would say why accounting where do you think you will get a job? I would be like that’s what I like to do and then I would change the topic. I knew what I wanted and I was not prepared to be moved by anyone else who does not know or believe in my dream.
This made me wonder why people were not comfortable with my choices. Why do I have to be like everybody else? I am not everybody else neither are you. You are yourself, so be you and do not make excuses about who you are.
Being resilient comes in handy when the times are tough. The road to achieving goals is not always paved with gold.
As part of my degree in the England I had to do one year internship.
I was living in Nottingham and working in Birmingham, Imagine commuting to another city every day. This is really not a common thing in the UK, most people live and work in the same city. I took the train at 5am every morning so I will be in the office at 8:30am.
The little money I earned went into transport and I had a baby in childcare. So these numbers really don’t add up right?
So anywhere my goal was to get the experience so that by the time I graduate, I will have experience under my belt. So even after the year was up I stayed with this company part time looking after their whole finance function. So by the time I graduated I had 2 years work experience on my resume. Was the goal achieved? Yes, Was the journey easy? No.
Be prepared to put up with difficult or unrealistic people
I think most people have encountered this is their lives. For instance work places all the office politics and gossip that goes around and at times might affect you. I have had to put up with this sort of behaviour because I had just bought a house which needed furnishing. I had also just had a baby and had just gone back to work after maternity leave. This definitely was not the right time for me to be moving jobs. I kept my eyes on the goal.
How do you keep your on the big picture that is the goal?
